Green Business and Real Estate Finance

Urban Solutions is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Sales Associate who will assist in growing Urban Solutions’ Green Business Program and affiliated Certified Development Company, California Lending Partners.

This employee will report to the Urban Solutions Green Business Program Manager and California Lending Partners’ Business Development Officer (BDO).  The Sales Associate is responsible for program support and generating revenue through the recruitment of new clients to the programs. He/she will work both collaboratively and independently, and will provide direct client services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote sales by contacting leads and/or prospects and presenting program objectives and services
  • Identify prospective small business clients and maintain prospect records. Candidate must be comfortable making phone and in-person cold-calls
  • Identify high-level cost-reduction opportunities from energy/water efficiency and waste diversion
  • Contract management with increasing responsibility
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to programs
  • Assist with creating marketing and collateral materials
  • Field initial inquiries regarding the programs and answer incoming prospect calls
  • Assist BDO in following up with clients and lenders to ensure all necessary documents are compiled to submit and close loans

Required Skills:

  • Experience in Business to Business sales and development
  • Experience in marketing and communications
  • Able to clearly and concisely communicate status of client compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic finance and accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet research tools
  • Highly organized
  • Outgoing personality
  • Committed environmentalist
  • College Degree

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Interest in and familiarity with sustainable business practices and “greening” the local economy
  • Experience negotiating rates with clients
  • Familiarity with lending and Real Estate industry
  • Experience in negotiating rates with clients

JOBS NOW REQUIREMENTS

This position will be funded through the Jobs Now program. This government funded program puts underemployed and unemployed parents into good jobs, and pays the employers the cost of their wages through September 30, 2010.

If you are working or were recently working, and your income in the past month was less than 200% of the federal poverty level, you are eligible. The table below shows the maximum income you can earn in a month or year and be eligible for the program.

In addition to the income requirements, you must also meet a few other criteria.

  • Be a resident of San Francisco
  • Show proof of right to work
  • Be a parent of at least one child under age 18 (even if you do not live with that child)

Salary range: $33,000 - $36,000 plus benefits
